Is Hiltons The Reach Key West Worth The Money?

My wife and I stayed at The Reach June 13-June 15 in 2022 as a romantic getaway. Room 3308. The staff was amazing, as was the food and drinks at the on site restaurant. We also loved the scent of the hotel so much that we bought (and use) the candle. Thing is...we paid for an OCEAN FACING / VIEW room and our room was on the alley and we could see the ocean if we leaned and looked left from the balcony. At over 700USD per night I think we both felt a little slighted. They do have an advantage as they are one of the few properties in the Keys with a beach, but it faces the Atlantic and the water /beach was often over run with red algae. I think for the money I would not recommend the hotel, but if you could get it during off peak/at a cheaper rate ...even 300USD it would be worth it, but its not worth the 700+ we paid for it. We did get a chance to go to the sister property Casa Marina Key West. The property was beautiful and we may give that a try, but like I said we did not feel the Reach was worth the price they charged for the rooms...and their room descriptions were misleading. When we go back we may forego the beach property due to the algae on the Atlantic, use the public beach we found just south of the cruise docks and stay at a boutique hotel or BNB. Staff and food at the Reach were incredible...hotel and value...eh.
